Olive Harvest 2009
Olive Harvest 2009
This was a great olive harvest year - where there were more olives than we could pick!
We’re hand harvesting, picking with fingers and rakes into the harvest tubs, held by shoulder straps for hands free convenience. Many hours and conversations across the grove.
Season 2007/08
Our grove this season had enough irrigation through Spring 2007 which meant a good flowering and fruit set of olives. Last rain and significant watering was at Christmas so by the time March came with record breaking heatwave everyone including olive trees were getting rather stressed.
The 3 month drought broke with Easter rain late in March and many of the olive trees came back to life and filling out fruit.
