Our Farm

Evolving from a bare sheep paddock on the edge of Burra township, Clare Valley & Mid North Region of SA. 15 years of growing biodiversity with native trees & shrubs and nurturing remnant grassland ecologies by removing grazing pressures have enabled healing of soils and support of natural systems. Healthy natural systems of soil, grassland & forest underpin and enhance the activities of biological farming.

This evolution is guided by the philosophies and principles of permaculture, best described by David Holmgren and as practised at The Food Forest in South Australia.

Productive trees and shrubs: pistachio, olive, carob, caper and wattleseed for commercial yields & fig, pomegranate, feijoa, apple and more provide abundance for our household harvest.

Native wildlife including a few visiting kangaroos, many lizards and birds will soon be accompanied by grazing animals to complete the nutrient cycles in our permaculture system.
